Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries independently and provide hands-on maternal care from labor through delivery
• Circulate in C-sections and collaborate with surgical techs, anesthesia and OB teams
• Assist with newborn transition and initial newborn care, including catching and transitioning babies
• Titrate and manage drips (magnesium, Pitocin, insulin) safely and per protocol
• Perform electronic charting in EPIC and document fetal monitoring using Centricity-perinatal
• Provide compassionate care for high-risk moms (preeclampsia, diabetes, substance use, psych/social issues)
• Function across Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby/postpartum couplets as needed while maintaining competencies

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (facility notes: license submission accepted and they are willing to wait)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (L&D experience required); will consider 1 year if you have multiple prior travel assignments
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Intermediate or advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) preferred
• Comfort attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections
• Able to titrate drips and manage common OB meds safely
• No first-time travelers — prior travel experience required

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
• Experience with Centricity-perinatal and electronic fetal monitoring
• Strong maternal/newborn assessment and newborn transition skills
• Titration and management of magnesium, Pitocin and insulin drips
• Ability to work within AWHONN ratios (1:2 L&D; 1:3-4 couplets)
• Team-oriented communication with OB/hospitalist, anesthesia and NNPs
• Comfort working with surgical techs and PACU monitor support
