Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult ICU patients
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition using advanced assessment skills
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Participate in shift handoffs and ensure accurate, timely charting

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (or compact state RN license if applicable)
• Critical care/ICU experience and comfort with high-acuity patients
• BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to work overnight 12-hour shifts and adapt to a per diem schedule
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Current immunizations and any facility-required health clearances

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Familiarity with medication administration in critical care settings
• Comfortable with electronic medical record documentation
• Excellent communication and prioritization under pressure
• Infection control practices and ICU safety protocols
