Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shifts with variable start between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM (approx. end times 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM); call 1 shift per week and every 4th weekend; no evenings and no regular weekends. Day shift.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and instruments for scheduled cases, ensuring sterile technique and readiness
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and maintaining the sterile field throughout procedures
• Perform effective scrub duties across a variety of specialties including orthopedics, neuro/spine, general, gynecology, urology, and ENT
• Support CV and robotic cases when you have applicable experience, following team-specific protocols
• Document case activity accurately in Cerner Surginet and communicate clearly with circulating staff
• Participate in call rotations and be available for designated call shifts and assigned weekend coverage
• Follow hospital-specific OR processes and safety protocols to ensure patient safety and smooth case flow
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, circulating nurses, and charge staff to coordinate safe patient handoffs to ICU when required

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Experience with Cerner Surginet strongly preferred
• Experience scrubbed on cardiovascular or robotic cases required to staff those specific cases
• Comfort working 10-hour day shifts with variable start times and participating in call rotations
• Able to complete the orientation: 1 week paperwork onboarding plus 1 week with a preceptor

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and scrub skills in the OR environment
• Familiarity with orthopedic total joint procedures (hips, knees, joints)
• Knowledge of neuro, spine, and cardiovascular surgical workflows when applicable
• Proficiency or willingness to chart in Cerner Surginet
• Ability to work effectively with anesthesiologists and surgical teams during complex cases
• Excellent communication, situational awareness, and ability to follow precise OR processes
• Adaptability to high-volume case days (15-25 cases per day) and mixed inpatient/outpatient workloads
