Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care as a sitter and CNA, prioritizing safety and dignity
• Perform vital signs, feeding, ambulation, turning/positioning and hourly rounding to keep patients stable and comfortable
• Serve as primary sitter when assigned and transition to CNA duties (approximately 50/50 expected)
• Document care accurately in EPIC and communicate changes promptly to nursing staff and charge nurse
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and support resource/charge nurses during the shift
• Float to other units or hospitals in the region when needed, adapting to different patient populations
• Maintain professional appearance and follow unit dress code while representing the system positively

Qualifications

• Washington State CNA license required (must be in good standing)
• BLS certification required
• Hospital clinical experience required — 1 to 2 years of patient care experience preferred (hospital experience emphasized)
• Comfort with telemetry unit workflows and sitter utilization
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend, and cover holidays as needed
• Flexible attitude, dependable, and able to float to other hospitals/units when requested
• Comfortable with EPIC charting and unit-specific orientation requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven patient care skills: vital signs, feeding, ambulation, turning/positioning, hourly rounding
• Experience on telemetry units and familiarity with sitter utilization
• Proficient with EPIC electronic charting and basic documentation standards
• Solid teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to follow RN direction
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting and adapt to changing assignments
