Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions, reporting changes to the nursing team
Assist with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly during handoffs
Support infection control practices and ensure a safe, clean environment
Collaborate with nurses and other care team members to deliver coordinated care
Help with admissions, discharges, and bedside care to enhance patient comfort

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
California CNA certification/license preferred
Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Previous experience in long-term care, hospital, or skilled nursing settings a plus
Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification

Education

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
Understanding of infection prevention and patient safety protocols
Reliable documentation habits and clear communication during handoffs
Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling
