Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care for ICU patients, including DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac rate/rhythm issues, and medical detox cases
• Assess patients continuously and make time-sensitive clinical decisions to ensure optimal outcomes
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry and act promptly on abnormal findings
• Manage arterial lines and CVP monitoring with precision and attention to detail
• Titrate vasoactive drips and other infusions safely according to protocols
• Troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment, and provide support from nasal cannula through ventilator-level care
• Collaborate with the emergency department (ER) when ER is in charge of ICU operations
• Support unit teamwork, coach peers on safety concerns, and help maintain a culture of accountability

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice
• Minimum 1 year of critical care/ICU experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS; TNCC or TCAR or equivalent trauma care experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry interpretation, ventilator management, and medication/drip titration
• Ability to float to MS/ER and work independently when needed
• Strong communication skills, coachability, and a team-first attitude

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Ventilator management and respiratory troubleshooting
• Medication/drip titration and vasoactive management
• Arterial line and CVP monitoring
• Trauma patient care principles and emergency response
• Charting in MEDITECH and clear clinical documentation
• Situational awareness, teamwork, and the ability to coach for safety
