Shift Type: Primarily day shifts starting at 7:00 AM — 8-hour days (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) or 12-hour days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) as needed; primarily Monday–Friday with a high need for Mondays & Fridays. Includes one weeknight on-call per week (call begins when department closes), rotating weekend call (approximately 1 full weekend every 5 weeks), and holiday call coverage. Day shift with on-call and rotating weekends.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub cath lab cases and maintain a strict sterile field to keep patients safe during procedures
• Support PCI, structural, peripheral angiography, EVARs, pacemaker and stent procedures with expert clinical skills
• Execute efficient room turnover and accurate documentation to keep the lab running smoothly
• Coordinate patient transport, admissions support and interdepartmental handoffs
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly (30-minute response expectation) when needed
• Float to IR or the Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) as needed to support staffing and patient care
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, techs and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional cardiac care

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab RN experience required
• PCI experience required; pacemaker experience highly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
• Demonstrated ability to scrub cases and maintain sterile technique
• Procedural sedation experience preferred
• Reliable on-call availability and ability to respond within 30 minutes

Education

• Active RN license (state licensure in California) — BSN preferred but not required
• Relevant unit orientation (average 36–40 hours) and 12 hours documented department-specific orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner charting and experience with Merge imaging systems
• Strong scrubbing technique and sterile field maintenance
• Knowledge of cardiac cath lab procedures (PCI, device implants, peripheral angio, EVARs)
• Excellent documentation, communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage variable case volume and adapt to fast-paced acute care environment
