Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to ICU patients (e.g., DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac rhythm management)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data, including arterial lines and CVP
• Titrate infusions and manage common ICU drips safely and accurately
• Manage ventilator support troubleshooting through escalation and collaboration with RTs
• Assess patients continuously and adjust care plans based on acuity and clinical change
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including ER staff who manage the unit
• Float to medical-surgical or ER when needed, delivering consistent, competent care

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (eligible to work in North Dakota)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS; TNCC or TCAR or documented trauma patient care experience
• Minimum 1 year of relevant critical care/ICU experience
• Comfortable with arterial line management, CVP monitoring, ventilator troubleshooting, and drip titration
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Coachable, motivated, and able to identify and coach around unsafe situations

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing and critical care fundamentals
• Ventilator management and respiratory support troubleshooting
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm management
• Arterial line and CVP monitoring
• Familiarity with MEDITECH charting system
• Strong teamwork, communication, and situational awareness
