Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and vital sign checks for adult and geriatric patients to support safe, high-quality care
• Administer medications and immunizations accurately while monitoring patient response
• Start and manage IV access and perform venipuncture/phlebotomy and specimen collection efficiently
• Document care and chart in EPIC to maintain clear, complete patient records
• Provide patient teaching, follow-up calls and telephone triage to keep patients informed and supported
• Assist with clinic procedures such as dressing changes and suture removal and support infusion and oncology-focused treatments

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio (or compact license where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient clinic nursing experience (GI Oncology experience strongly preferred)
• BLS certification required
• ONS or OCN certification preferred
• Proven skills in IV starts, venipuncture/phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
• Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems
• Comfort with telephone triage, medication refills, authorization forms and clinic administrative duties
• Flu vaccine required per facility guideline (medical exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and documentation in EPIC
• Medication administration and immunization techniques
• IV starts, venipuncture and specimen labeling/collection
• Blood glucose monitoring via glucometer
• Cardiac arrest response and CPR
• 12-lead EKG acquisition and pulse oximetry
• Telephone triage, authorization forms and pharmacy refill coordination
• Oncology and infusion clinic workflows, triage and urgent care principles
