Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid triage and assessment to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document patient encounters accurately and communicate changes in condition
• Stabilize and prepare patients for transfer or admission when necessary
• Educate patients and families on care plans, follow-up, and safety instructions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (California) required
• Minimum ED or acute care experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to function effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
• Excellent communication skills and professional teamwork

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment and triage expertise
• Trauma and acute care nursing fundamentals
• IV therapy, medication administration, and advanced monitoring
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks under pressure
• Patient/family education and compassionate bedside manner
