Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality acute hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis care using Fresenius and Baxter equipment
• Provide 1:1 bedside treatments in ICU/PCU situations, including ventilator and titratable IV drip management
• Perform EPIC documentation and medication/unit workflows with Pyxis and Voalte communication
• Obtain PD fluid samples, manage CAPD/CCPD cycler care (night RN competency required), and support modality changes when needed
• Manage post-dialysis treatment and post-treatment access care to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in unit disaster/storm/hurricane team responses and report as required during catastrophic events
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, Pharmacy, Interpretation Services) for coordinated patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina (required)
• Minimum 2 years experience, with at least 1 year recent acute hemodialysis experience on Fresenius equipment and peritoneal dialysis experience with Baxter cycler (HARD STOP)
• BLS required
• ACLS and CDN or CNN preferred
• Competency with Baxter peritoneal dialysis cycler and CAPD for night shift roles
• Comfortable with EPIC documentation, Pyxis medication systems and Voalte reporting
• Able and willing to join Storm/Hurricane/Disaster response teams when called

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute hemodialysis (Fresenius T machines, CliC, Bibag) expertise
• Peritoneal dialysis (Baxter cycler, CAPD/CCPD) skills
• EPIC documentation and Pyxis medication system experience
• IV pump management (Sigma Spectrum) and titratable IV drip knowledge
• Airway management and ICU/PCU bedside treatment competency
• Post-dialysis treatment and access care
• Patient transport coordination via EPIC and interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to work 1:1 patient assignments in high-acuity settings
