Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition quickly and accurately to prioritize care in the ED
• Deliver patient-family centered care with compassion and clinical excellence
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and execute individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely
• Perform triage and emergency response actions, acting rapidly and efficiently when seconds count
• Maintain patient confidentiality while supporting the hospital’s mission and values
• Use clinical judgement to function independently and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current BCLS required; ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred (Emergency Department experience strongly preferred)
• Excellent assessment, communication, documentation, and computer skills
• Ability to function independently and respond efficiently in emergency situations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

• Strong emergency nursing and triage skills
• Patient-family centered care practices
• Accurate assessment and clinical decision-making
• Clear, timely documentation and effective communication with the care team
• Familiarity with ED workflows, computer charting systems, and emergency protocols
• Calm, efficient action under pressure and ability to prioritize rapidly
