Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care across ICU, ED and Medical-Surgical units as part of the float pool
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support, including ABG interpretation and HFNC/BiPAP management
• Perform and manage invasive lines: arterial lines, central lines, PICC care and IV access
• Administer and monitor blood products and TPN/Lipids with meticulous safety and documentation
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, and manage continuous sedation or paralytics when needed
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, pharmacy, radiology, social services) for patient-centered care
• Respond to emergencies, interpret dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs and participate in massive transfusion or rapid-response protocols

Qualifications

• Active CA nursing license preferred; pending CA license accepted
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (critical care/acute settings) — travel experience required
• Certifications preferred: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Proven ability to float between ICU, ED and MS with confidence
• Comfortable with Epic charting (charting system required)
• Experience with ventilator management, central/arterial line care, blood product administration and IV therapy
• Able to work night shifts and a rotating weekend schedule; RTO restrictions no more than 7 days

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Arterial line and central line management, PICC care
• Blood product administration and massive transfusion protocols
• TPN/Lipids management and IV therapy skills
• Interpretation of ABGs, dysrhythmias and 12-lead EKGs
• High-output drain management and monitoring for abdominal compartment syndrome
• Familiarity with isolation precautions/PPE and infection prevention
• Experience across CVICU, MICU, SICU, eICU, ED and MS settings
