Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage Nuclear Medicine Stress Tests and Treadmill Stress Tests with vigilance and clinical expertise
• Initiate IVs and manage intravenous infusions for procedures safely and efficiently
• Mix and administer medications, and manage INR monitoring both in-office and via home management protocols
• Perform venipuncture, obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG, capture vital signs and conduct focused cardiovascular assessments
• Triage patients via telephone and high-volume EPIC patient messages, ensuring timely follow-up and clear communication
• Assist with vein ablations and other specialized cardiology clinic procedures in collaboration with the care team
• Provide patient teaching, medication reconciliation, and follow-up planning to improve outcomes
• Prepare charts, manage authorizations/forms, handle pharmacy calls and referral coordination to keep clinic flow smooth

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (required)
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience (cardiology/outpatient experience strongly preferred)
• Experience with EPIC (Epic EHR) and high-volume patient message management preferred
• Proven skills in IV initiation, venipuncture/phlebotomy, and medication administration
• Comfortable monitoring stress testing and interpreting EKGs/arrhythmias
• Familiarity with anticoagulation/INR management and intravenous infusions
• Strong communication and telephone triage abilities; previous charge experience is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR/AED certifications (or able to obtain) recommended

Education

• Active California RN license required
• Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN accepted (BSN preferred by some employers)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiology outpatient care and cardiovascular assessment
• EKG/ECG acquisition and arrhythmia interpretation
• Medication mixing, administration and anticoagulation therapy
• EPIC charting and high-volume patient message management
• Venipuncture, phlebotomy and IV therapy/infusion management
• Telephone triage, authorization/forms processing and chart preparation
• Blood glucose monitoring and basic point-of-care testing
• Patient education, medication reconciliation and follow-up coordination
