Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, timely emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessment and triage to prioritize treatment in a high-acuity setting
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and interventions per provider orders and protocols
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care in a clear, supportive manner
• Respond calmly and effectively during codes and other critical events, following unit protocols

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or as appropriate
• Previous emergency department or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in fast-paced environments
• Ability to work independently on per-diem assignments and collaborate with rotating teams
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills with an emphasis on rapid decision-making
• Proficiency with IV starts, medication administration, wound care, and basic procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication and patient/family education abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure and adapt to changing patient volumes
• Teamwork mindset and effective collaboration with physicians, techs, and support staff
