Shift Type: Night shifts, 3x12-hour nights per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Rotating weekend coverage with 2 weekends off out of every 4 (weekend defined as 2 consecutive days, Fri-Sun).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for adult and geriatric ICU patients, delivering high-quality bedside care every shift
• Manage ventilated patients including ventilator management, suctioning (ETT/NT), and BiPAP/CPAP support
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and titrate ventilator settings and vasoactive/cardiac drips accordingly
• Safely access and manage invasive lines: arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and IVs
• Administer and monitor continuous IV sedation and blood products with vigilant assessment
• Respond to cardiac events: interpret and manage dysrhythmias and support emergency interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (Respiratory Therapy, PT, Pharmacy, Radiology) to create and implement patient-centered plans
• Maintain infection prevention practices and isolation precautions to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license — CA license preferred; pending CA license accepted
• Minimum 1 year of ICU / critical care nursing experience
• Charting experience with Epic (required)
• Current ACLS and BLS (PALS preferred) certifications
• Comfortable with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, arterial/central line care, and vasoactive drip titration
• Ability to float occasionally and take call for low census situations

• Critical Care Nursing and MICU experience
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Arterial line, central line and PICC line management
• IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, blood product administration
• Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips; continuous IV sedation
• BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management
• Suctioning (ETT, NT), chest tube assistance, respiratory failure management
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and phlebotomy
• Epic electronic charting system
