Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate adult and geriatric patients across acute, ICU, medical and inpatient rehab settings with thorough, evidence-based assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on functional activities, independence and safe discharge goals
• Provide skilled interventions including functional splinting, orthoplast/static splints, edema management and prosthetics/orthotics support when needed
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
• Document care and progress efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity and high-quality charting
• Manage an active caseload (typically 8–10 patients/day) while prioritizing safety and clinical reasoning
• Be ready to float between units and step in where the team needs you most — flexibility and teamwork are essential

Qualifications

• Current Washington Occupational Therapy license (WA LIC) required — must have license in hand
• Minimum 1 year of acute care occupational therapy experience required
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Experience or comfort working in ICU, Emergency Department and Inpatient Rehab settings is a plus
• Self-starter with strong time management skills and the ability to handle a varied caseload
• Ability to float across units and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
• COVID-19 vaccine: facility guideline indicates not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in acute care occupational therapy and patient evaluation
• Proficiency with functional activities, ADL training and discharge planning
• Hands-on skills: functional splints, orthoplast/static splints, edema massage and kinesiotaping
• Familiarity with prosthetics/orthotics concepts and working with complex diagnoses (multi-trauma, SCI, CVA, Parkinson’s, MS, etc.)
• Comfort charting and communicating in Epic EMR
• Ability to manage moderate caseloads (8–10 patients/day) and adjust priorities in a busy hospital environment
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to fit into a friendly, close-knit department
