Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, prioritizing safety and quality outcomes
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and complex interventions with precision
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment such as ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to plan and adjust care
• Provide clear, compassionate communication with patients and families during high-stress situations
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in California or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Critical care/ICU clinical experience (per-diem positions welcome from experienced ICU RNs)
• Current BLS required; ACLS and other critical care certifications preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to prioritize, and comfort with high-acuity patients
• Proof of required immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but all qualifying RN education backgrounds will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in managing ventilated patients and advanced airway care
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication titration
• Solid assessment skills for rapid recognition of changes in patient condition
• Competence with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Effective teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to teach or precept others
