Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing on blood, body fluids and tissue to support timely patient care
• Process and accession specimens accurately from ER, inpatient and outpatient sources
• Run, monitor and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure reliable results
• Document and report results clearly and promptly to the care team
• Follow CLIA and CAP standards to maintain accreditation and quality for patients
• Participate in quality control, maintenance and continuous improvement activities
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to support critical and emergent testing needs

Qualifications

• ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required upon submission
• Must hold Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) credential
• Comfortable working night shift hours and rotating weekend coverage
• Experience in inpatient, ER and outpatient specimen testing preferred
• Familiarity with CLIA and CAP requirements and laboratory accreditation processes

Education

• ASCP or AMT certified MLS or MLT required upon submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Specimen processing and accurate specimen handling
• Blood, body fluid and tissue analysis in a hospital laboratory setting
• Experience supporting 24-hour laboratory operations
• Ability to follow laboratory safety, quality control and documentation practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for cross-discipline collaboration
