Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams with a strong emphasis on vascular studies — your expertise will directly impact patient care
• Handle a daily workload averaging 8-12 scans while maintaining high-quality imaging and documentation
• Perform OB first-trimester scans in the ER when needed, applying sensitivity and technical skill
• Operate and maintain GE ultrasound equipment and ensure images are archived in Synapse PACS
• Document findings accurately in EPIC and communicate results to radiology staff and supervisors
• Participate in on-call and weekend coverage to support continuous patient care
• Float within the Zone 1 facilities when needed, adapting quickly to different units and workflows
• Follow radiation safety protocols and ensure agency-provided radiation badge is used properly

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required (RDMS, RDCS, or RVT acceptable; RDMS or RVT preferred)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Strong vascular ultrasound experience is a must — heavy vascular caseload expected
• Minimum 1 year of relevant sonography experience (as listed in the posting)
• Comfortable performing OB first-trimester exams in an acute setting
• Ability to handle night shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to comply with a 60-mile radius requirement; be in-state for orientation week
• Agency must provide traveler radiation badge prior to assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with vascular and general ultrasound techniques
• Experience with EPIC for charting and Synapse for PACS image management
• Familiarity operating GE ultrasound systems
• Comfort with fast-paced acute care environments and 8-12 studies per day
• Ability to manage call situations and communicate effectively with radiologists and care teams
• Adaptability to float across nearby facilities within the zone
