Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Assess and monitor patients’ condition, interpret data, and adjust care plans accordingly
• Operate and manage advanced life support equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Collaborate with physicians, RTs, pharmacists, and the care team to coordinate timely interventions
• Document care accurately and communicate changes in patient status to the team
• Support and educate patients and families through complex care decisions
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and participate in code situations when needed

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in California or eligible to obtain state licensure
• Recent ICU experience — demonstrated comfort with high-acuity patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or within employer timeframe
• Critical care certification (CCRN) preferred but not required
• Ability to function effectively in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ongoing professional education encouraged and supported

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory support
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips
• Experience with IV pump programming and central line care
• Familiarity with infection control practices and ICU protocols
• Comfortable using electronic medical record systems for charting
• Skilled at patient/family education and compassionate bedside care
