Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pharmacy operations and ensure regulatory compliance across both campuses
• Lead antibiotic stewardship activities — vancomycin and aminoglycoside dosing and monitoring
• Manage drug monitoring such as insulin dosing and other therapeutic drug levels
• Provide timely, evidence-based drug information to the medical staff
• Prepare and verify sterile compounding and supervise IV compounding processes when needed
• Operate and oversee medication dispensing systems including Omnicell and CSM vault workflows
• Perform medidose unit packaging, Kit Check and control check procedures to maintain safety and accuracy
• Step in to support staff during rare emergencies and help maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active California pharmacist license (required) with 3+ years hospital pharmacy experience
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Residency training and/or BPS certifications (BCPS, BCIDP, BCCCP, BSCSP) or ASHP micro-certifications or SIDP/infectious diseases certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner (CPOE) or similar electronic medication record systems
• Familiarity with Omnicell (ADM), medidose packaging, Kit Check and control check workflows
• IV compounding certification preferred (facility would like this)
• Comfort supervising or working closely with pharmacy techs within a 1:2 RPh-to-tech model
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide clinical drug information to multidisciplinary teams

• Pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
• Antibiotic Stewardship Program (ASP) processes and antibiotic dosing/monitoring
• Sterile compounding and IV admixture best practices
• Medication dispensing systems: Omnicell, CSM vault, tube system workflows
• CPOE/EHR experience — Cerner proficiency preferred
• Medidose unit packaging, Kit Check and control check procedures
• Drug information provision and therapeutic drug monitoring
• Basic IT familiarity — helpful for system workflows and troubleshooting
