Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments each shift and document findings thoroughly
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and recognize dysrhythmias promptly to keep patients safe
• Administer and manage IV drips commonly used on the unit (Insulin, Heparin, Diltiazem)
• Provide skilled Med/Surg and Progressive Care Unit bedside care for newborn to geriatric populations
• Conduct hourly rounding and assessment of pain, Braden, and fall risk to prevent complications
• Manage admissions and ensure smooth transitions of care, including documentation and handoffs
• Work independently in a small, rural facility while collaborating with LNA and interdisciplinary teams
• Prioritize patient safety, timely medication administration, and clear communication with families

Qualifications

• Active New Hampshire RN license OR a Compact RN license (must be uploaded with profile)
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 3+ years combined experience in PCU, Medical/Surgical and Telemetry (required)
• Telemetry experience and basic dysrhythmia competency required (document in profile)
• Current skills checklists for Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit (within 1 year)
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years (required)
• Must have reliable transportation/own vehicle and permanent address included in profile
• Previous travel experience and rural/small-facility experience highly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Strong dysrhythmia recognition and ACLS-based response skills
• Comfortable managing IV medications: insulin, heparin, diltiazem
• Skilled in Med/Surg and PCU-level nursing assessments and interventions
• Excellent documentation and handoff communication
• Ability to triage and prioritize in a small, fast-paced rural hospital
• Competent in admissions, discharge planning, and working with support staff
