Shift Type: Rotating night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend plus two weeknight shifts (may include Saturday or Sunday); night shift, floating between units as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following facility policies and approved nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and resident exams
• Observe residents, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors, physicians and families as needed
• Monitor vital signs and perform nursing assessments to detect changes in resident condition
• Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the unit to ensure high quality resident care
• Maintain narcotics records and ensure safe narcotics management on the unit
• Document admissions, discharges, transfers and incidents accurately and timely
• Participate in care planning, complete nursing assessments and develop resident care plans
• Participate in orientation, training and evaluation of nursing personnel to support a strong team
• Inspect resident rooms and the unit for cleanliness, comfort and safety while maintaining resident dignity and confidentiality

Qualifications

• Active Michigan LPN license (must be active at time of submission)
• BLS (AHA) certification required and current
• Minimum 2+ years experience in long term care or skilled nursing facility
• Must have completed at least one successful travel LPN assignment (please note on work history)
• Willingness to float between units and be flexible with scheduling, including weekends
• Submission materials: recent skills checklist (less than 1 year old), 2 supervisory references from the past 2 years, explanation of any employment gaps, and active certifications at time of submission
• COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred; if declining, mask mandate applies; please include vaccination status in submission
• RTO (return to office/response to offer) cannot exceed 5 days; locals within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and narcotics handling with strict documentation
• Vital signs monitoring and resident assessment
• Care planning and accurate nursing assessments
• Strong clinical documentation and incident reporting
• Staff coordination, delegation and basic supervisory skills
• Comfort working with residents in a long term care setting and participating in team-based care
• Ability to inspect and maintain resident environments for safety and comfort
• Basic life support and emergency response readiness (BLS AHA)
