Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day shift); 35 hours/week; No weekend rotation
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $31 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients in the rehabilitation setting, helping them regain independence
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and clinical assessments
- Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document patient progress, treatment notes, and discharge planning in a timely and accurate manner
- Educate patients and families on strategies, home programs, and adaptive equipment to support recovery
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential — required
- Current licensure or registration to practice as an OTA in New Mexico (or ability to obtain) — required
- Minimum experience in an inpatient or outpatient rehab setting preferred
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification — preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic activity planning and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Comfortable with patient assessments, treatment documentation, and progress tracking
- Knowledge of common rehab diagnoses and interventions in a post-acute setting
- Ability to teach patients and families practical strategies for daily living and safety
- Good time management, organization, and clinical reasoning skills
