Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients in a correctional health setting, delivering compassionate and professional support
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs and document patient status accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform patient assessments, triage concerns and escalate urgent issues when needed
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to facility policies and infection control standards
• Support continuity of care during shift changes and participate in orientation and training

Qualifications

• Current and valid California LVN license (Licensed Vocational Nurse)
• Willingness to work the assigned schedule: Thursday through Monday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Comfortable working in a correctional facility setting (ISP - Ironwood State Prison)
• Successful completion of employer-required orientation (two weeks, Mon-Fri) and any facility onboarding
• Strong clinical judgement, professional communication skills and reliable documentation habits
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and screenings

Education

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program (LVN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Patient assessment, monitoring and documentation
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Good clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize patient needs
• Clear communication with patients and healthcare team members
• Familiarity with electronic charting and standard nursing documentation
