Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to patients, assisting with daily living activities
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to promote safety and comfort
- Maintain clear, timely documentation to support high-quality patient care
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and team members
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Support a positive care environment by anticipating needs and pitching in where required
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
- Eligible for or currently holding CNA certification in New Mexico as required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and providing hands-on patient care
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental knowledge of patient care and activities of daily living
- Skilled in taking and documenting vital signs and patient observations
- Familiarity with infection control best practices and patient safety standards
- Good communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Time management and prioritization to handle multiple patient needs
- Basic documentation and charting skills using electronic or paper systems
