Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to patients, assisting with daily living activities
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to promote safety and comfort
• Maintain clear, timely documentation to support high-quality patient care
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and team members
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Support a positive care environment by anticipating needs and pitching in where required

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
• Eligible for or currently holding CNA certification in New Mexico as required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and providing hands-on patient care
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental knowledge of patient care and activities of daily living
• Skilled in taking and documenting vital signs and patient observations
• Familiarity with infection control best practices and patient safety standards
• Good communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Time management and prioritization to handle multiple patient needs
• Basic documentation and charting skills using electronic or paper systems
