Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' functional abilities and create individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, and independence
- Document patient progress and update treatment goals in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
- Monitor outcomes and adjust interventions to maximize patient recovery
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist in Maryland or eligible for Maryland licensure
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Experience in outpatient or post-acute rehabilitation preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient- and family-centered care
- Ability to manage documentation and use common EMR systems
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
- State licensure required prior to providing independent care
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and gait training
- Familiarity with outcome measures and functional assessment tools
- Comfortable developing and modifying individualized treatment plans
- Proficient with clinical documentation and basic computer skills
- Ability to educate patients and caregivers in clear, compassionate terms
