Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during overnight and evening shifts
- Perform focused assessments and monitor patient status, reporting changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient plans and transitions
- Support admissions, discharges, and transfers with attention to continuity of care
- Maintain clear, timely charting in the facility’s documentation system
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and infection prevention practices
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensure (as applicable)
- Relevant state nursing license to practice in New Mexico
- Valid basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Comfortable working per-diem night shifts and adaptable to variable schedules
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program appropriate to licensure (LPN or RN program)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical observation skills
- Skilled in medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Able to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy night shifts
- Familiarity with electronic health records and basic charting
- Team-oriented approach to collaborate with interdisciplinary staff
- Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based nursing practices
