Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful hands-on care to patients — help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any concerning changes promptly
• Support nursing staff by stocking supplies, maintaining clean patient areas, and following infection control practices
• Document care activities clearly and timely in the chart or electronic record
• Communicate effectively with the care team and patients’ families to ensure coordinated care
• Observe and report changes in patient condition so the team can respond quickly
• Help create a positive patient experience through kindness, patience, and attention to detail

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience in long-term care, rehab, or acute care is a plus but new grads with strong skills are welcome
• Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently on per diem shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completed accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills including ADLs and safe patient handling
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and basic observations
• Basic charting and documentation skills; ability to learn electronic health records
• Good communication and teamwork — you’ll coordinate with nurses, therapists, and support staff
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
• Understanding of infection control, safety protocols, and patient privacy
