Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in resident charts or electronic records
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention measures to maintain a secure environment
• Participate in team communication and care planning to improve resident outcomes
• Help create a warm, respectful atmosphere that supports resident quality of life

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
• Comfortable working overnight 12-hour shifts; reliable attendance is important
• Previous experience in long-term care or rehab settings preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Proficiency with basic clinical tasks: bathing, feeding, toileting, and ambulation
• Ability to accurately measure and record vital signs and intake/output
• Familiarity with infection control practices and resident safety protocols
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observation/reporting skills
