MS Tele Nurse Shift Manager

Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-08-2026

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), one weekend shift every two weeks, first to float

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $72 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead on-shift operations blending charge nurse, mentor, and manager roles
Round on patients to ensure compassionate, high-quality care
Support staff development and resolve clinical or interpersonal issues
Take patient assignments as needed based on census
Promote a positive work environment while addressing safety concerns
Serve as a key resource for the MedSurg Tele units team

Qualifications

Active RN license
3+ years of experience including recent Charge RN role
No first-time travelers
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Strong MedSurg Tele experience

Education

BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in Cerner EMR
Strong central line management
Teaching and patient engagement skills
Compassionate leadership in fast-paced units
