Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate patient care using the nursing process from assessment to evaluation
Direct and coordinate nursing care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective care
Serve as a resource person and apply age-specific and culturally competent care
Administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and educate patients and families
Supervise unit secretaries and patient care technicians in collaboration with the charge nurse

Qualifications

Graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program
Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska (must be in good standing)
Current BLS certification; additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred
At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting as an RN
Ability to pass and maintain competencies for this position

Education

Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of the nursing process and patient care principles
Proficient in oral and written communication
Skilled in using office and medical equipment (EKG, etc.)
Ability to manage care across the continuum and work independently
Basic EKG skills and basic nursing skills
Ability to interpret technical procedures and regulatory guidelines
Supervisory skills for directing support staff
