Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care with dignity and respect
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support safe patient transfers and proper use of mobility aids
- Maintain clean, comfortable patient environments and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly with the care team and contribute to patient care plans
- Document care delivered in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — active and in good standing
- Valid CNA authorization to practice in New Mexico or willingness to obtain state registration
- Comfort working 12+ hour day shifts and providing hands-on patient care
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Prior experience in long-term care, rehab, or acute care settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge of ADLs and basic nursing care tasks
- Ability to take and record vitals and observe patient status
- Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Teamwork mindset and ability to follow directed care plans
- Compassion, patience, and good time management
