Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions under the direction of the treating PT to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Assist with gait training, transfers, functional mobility and therapeutic exercise programs
• Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately and timely in the patient record
• Collaborate with PTs, nurses and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality care
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies and recovery expectations
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure equipment is properly used and maintained
• Advocate for patients' needs and contribute to measurable outcomes in a fast-paced rehab setting

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized organization (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary rehab team and adapting to varied patient needs
• Reliable, professional, and able to work a seven-day coverage schedule as assigned

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers and manual techniques
• Familiarity with rehab equipment and safe patient handling principles
• Strong clinical documentation and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients, families and staff
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and contribute to goal-driven care plans
