Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Day (35 hours/week, no weekend rotation)
Hours per Week: 35
Candidate Pay Rate: $31 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and occupational therapy interventions consistent with treatment plans
- Assist in implementing individualized therapeutic activities to improve daily living skills
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with OTRs, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and home exercise programs
- Prepare and maintain therapeutic equipment and work areas to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Support discharge planning by communicating functional status and recommendations
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
- Current New Mexico COTA license or ability to obtain state licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfortable working with adults in a rehabilitation setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on an interdisciplinary team
- Attention to documentation, safety, and patient-centered care
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Graduation from an accredited OTA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and therapeutic activity planning
- Skill in assisting with ADL retraining, adaptive equipment, and functional mobility
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and progress note writing
- Ability to instruct and motivate patients and caregivers
- Familiarity with safety protocols, infection control, and equipment maintenance
- Good time management and organizational skills in a clinical setting
