Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in a rehab setting
- Administer medications and monitor responses according to protocol
- Perform focused assessments and document findings clearly in the EMR
- Coordinate care with therapists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team
- Support patients and families with education and discharge planning
- Monitor clinical progress and report changes promptly to the care team
- Maintain infection control, safety standards, and professional practice
Qualifications
- Active New Mexico RN or LPN license (role dependent) — you must be licensed to practice
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience in rehabilitation or med-surg preferred but not mandatory
- Comfortable working overnight/night shifts and adaptable to changing patient needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
Education
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- RN: Graduate of an accredited associate degree or BSN nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Patient assessment, wound care basics, and mobility support in rehab
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting workflows
- Good clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management
- Patient- and family-centered education and discharge coordination
- Team collaboration and clear handoff communication
