Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts — Days: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. No set schedules; must be available for 2-3 day shifts for orientation, work 4 weekend shifts per schedule (Friday & Saturday for night shift coverage; Saturday & Sunday for day shift coverage), and provide holiday coverage as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac and cardio-pulmonary rhythms remotely for multiple locations using centralized monitoring systems
• Recognize, record, and report dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias following established protocols
• Communicate timely and clearly with local RN staff and follow escalation channels for routine and emergency situations
• Operate and troubleshoot monitoring equipment (GE and Ascom) and document events in Cerner as required
• Maintain situational awareness of department metrics and help drive improvements in patient outcomes
• Participate in unit-specific and vendor-led (GE) in-person orientation when required

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited clinical program that includes EKG interpretation
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience (3 years preferred)
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting the assignment (lethal rhythms are pass/fail; single attempt)
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and holidays, and attend mandatory in-person orientation
• Able to comply with on-assignment rules (no other concurrent assignment) and strict no-cell-phone policy while working

Education

• Graduation from an accredited clinical program that includes EKG interpretation

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and remote patient surveillance
• Accurate EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Proficiency with Cerner charting and GE/Ascom monitoring equipment
• Strong communication skills to notify and coordinate with bedside RN staff
• Familiarity with virtual hospital/command center workflows and escalation protocols
• Comfort managing high patient loads (up to ~45–60 patients monitored virtually) with attention to detail
