Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment to maintain patient safety
• Assemble and verify surgical instrument sets accurately for a range of cases including ortho, general, gyn, and GI
• Operate sterilization equipment and document cycles to meet regulatory and facility standards
• Reprocess endoscopic scopes and specialty instruments (including preparation for robotic cases)
• Provide timely operating room support by preparing instruments and supplies for procedures
• Maintain inventory, track supplies, and assist with equipment acquisition and onboarding (e.g., da Vinci robot)
• Follow infection prevention protocols and maintain meticulous documentation in the charting system

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) — required
• BLS (AHA) certification — required
• Minimum ~2 years sterile processing / instrument reprocessing experience preferred
• Comfort working in an OR/acute care setting and supporting GI/endoscopy and basic ortho/gyn cases
• Ability to respond to on-call requests within 30 minutes and work required weekends/holidays
• Valid driver’s license (DL must be submitted) and willingness to be in-state for orientation week

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile processing fundamentals: decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, scope reprocessing
• Operating Room support and instrument reprocessing workflows
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system (preferred)
• Knowledge of GI/endoscopy, orthopedic, general surgery, and GYN instruments
• Experience or comfort with robotic instrument handling (Da Vinci) is a strong plus
• Strong attention to detail, infection control practices, and documentation skills
