Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond proactively to arrhythmias and alarms
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a 36-bed med-surg telemetry unit
• Document assessments and interventions clearly using Cerner Patient Observation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and safe discharges
• Prepare patients for procedures such as Endoscopy, IR, and OR with thorough pre-procedure care
• Support unit workflow using workstation-on-wheels and tap-and-go documentation tools
• Float to sister med-surg units as needed, providing flexible and reliable coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Telemetry or Med-Surg experience preferred)
• Experience with medical telemetry and remote telemetry monitoring
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR / Cerner Patient Observation (CPO)
• CMSRN encouraged but not required
• Leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
• Comfortable working rotating schedules and signing up for weekend coverage

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and alarm management skills
• Proficiency with Cerner and documentation best practices
• Skilled in med-surg patient care and preparation for procedures
• Ability to use VC150 units and workstation-on-wheels technology
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management
• Adaptability to unit staffing grids and floating to sister units
