Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the OB surgical team during vaginal and cesarean deliveries, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety
• Prepare and maintain sterile instrumentation and supplies for L&D procedures including D&C, hysterectomy, and cerclage
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs during high-risk OB scenarios and urgent deliveries
• Operate and monitor unit equipment such as GE monitors and document care in the EMR
• Collaborate with nurses, techs, and physicians to provide smooth patient handoffs and continuity of care
• Support triage and antepartum areas as needed, adapting quickly to changing patient acuity

Qualifications

• Current CST certification (per unit requirements)
• NBSTA and DORA certifications required and must be in-hand
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care CST experience in Labor & Delivery
• Comfortable with high-risk OB cases and both vaginal and C-section procedures
• Preferred: Meditech EMR experience and prior travel assignment experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and operating room workflow knowledge
• Familiarity with Meditech and Centricity systems
• Experience with GE patient monitoring equipment
• Ability to function well in fast-paced, high-acuity L&D environments
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability
