Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services, and Grounds teams, supervising approximately 45 FTEs
• Develop and enforce preventive maintenance programs and schedules to keep systems reliable
• Direct maintenance of utility systems to ensure continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, and oxygen
• Inspect machinery and equipment to confirm operational standards and oversee timely repairs
• Ensure compliance of outside contractors with regulatory agencies and hospital policies
• Set clear customer service expectations and implement training plans to drive consistent performance
• Act as liaison with other departments to assess needs and develop actionable plans
• Ensure facility compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, and local building and fire codes

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC, and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclave operation, bio-waste handling, life safety codes, and construction phasing
• Proven ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area (required)

Education

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience

• Facilities management and plant operations expertise
• Preventive maintenance planning and equipment inspection
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, boiler operation, and carpentry skills
• Environmental services operations and bio-waste handling knowledge
• Regulatory compliance knowledge: NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, and local codes
• Contractor management and construction phasing experience
• Strong personnel management, staff training, and customer service skills
• Ability to apply engineering principles to practical facility challenges
