Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, treatment and ongoing evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies and acute pulmonary conditions
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation and advanced airway support (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral)
• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide clinical interventions
• Deliver noninvasive ventilation therapies such as CPAP and BiPAP and titrate settings as needed
• Carry out CPT and other respiratory procedures with attention to patient safety and comfort
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during codes and urgent events
• Document accurate, timely clinical notes in the Meditech EMR and communicate care plans with physicians and nursing staff
• Contribute to a team environment focused on high-quality patient care and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications (must-have)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Proven experience with mechanical ventilation and ABG analysis
• Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP therapies and CPT procedures
• Meditech EMR experience preferred; trauma experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilator management and modes
• Skill performing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Comfortable operating ventilator models listed (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral)
• Ability to assess respiratory status and implement evidence-based interventions
• Effective communication and collaborative skills with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for accurate documentation
