Shift Type: Monday-Friday, Day shift (predominantly); flexibility required for mid shifts and Open Heart on-call as needed

Bill Rate: $50,000 sign-on bonus

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the operating room for open-heart procedures, ensuring patient safety and excellent clinical outcomes
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the perioperative team to coordinate complex cardiac cases
Maintain sterile technique and OR protocols during all phases of cardiac surgery
Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients and equipment for cardiac procedures
Monitor patients intraoperatively and support immediate postoperative handoff to recovery teams
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support a culture of compassionate, family-centered care

Qualifications

Current RN license required
3+ years of Operating Room experience required
Cardiac Open-Heart experience required
CVOR experience preferred
BSN preferred; candidates who commit to obtaining a BSN within three years of hire will be considered
Ability to work collaboratively, handle urgent situations calmly, and participate in on-call rotations

Education

BSN preferred; commitment to obtain BSN within three years considered with relevant experience

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of cardiac surgical procedures and instrumentation
Proven sterile technique and perioperative best practices
Skilled in patient monitoring and intraoperative assessment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to changing case schedules
