Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT and X-ray procedures following department protocols to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging
• Practice radiation safety and adhere to ALARA standards to protect patients and staff
• Provide clear patient education and obtain appropriate informed consent when required
• Perform equipment quality control and document equipment downtime, notifying management of issues promptly
• Verify orders, confirm patient identity with two identifiers, and ensure prior studies and all paperwork are available for interpretation
• Troubleshoot imaging equipment and contact service engineers when outside maintenance is needed
• Assist with clerical duties, patient transport, training/cross-training staff, and other department needs
• Communicate STAT or emergent cases to the Radiologist and provide ordering physician contact details

Qualifications

• Registered (or eligible) in at least two imaging registries (e.g., ARRT in Radiology, CT, MR, Mammography; ARDMS/RDMS; NMTCB) — must obtain within 1 year if not already held
• Current BLS certification required (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and employee health requirements
• Prior experience as a practicing technologist in CT/X-ray or other listed modalities preferred (2 years preferred)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Strong communication skills and comfort working independently with minimal supervision

Education

• ARRT or equivalent registration in two modalities (or eligible and obtainable within 1 year)
• BLS certification (current or obtained within 90 days)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with CT and X-ray imaging procedures and radiography best practices
• Radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Quality control procedures per manufacturer recommendations
• Experience with PACS, RIS/HIS and electronic medical records
• Patient care and patient education skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills and good documentation habits
• Ability to cross-train into MRI, mammography, DEXA, sonography or nuclear medicine as needed
• Equipment troubleshooting and inventory/ordering responsibilities
