Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (day/evening AM & PM coverage). Schedule includes weekend coverage (AM Saturday & Sunday; PM Friday & Saturday) and requires call twice per schedule — rotating coverage including weekends.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered labor & delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, PACU and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal status and maternal well-being using GE fetal monitoring and intervene appropriately
• Serve as circulating OR RN during C-section deliveries and assist the surgical team as needed
• Manage inductions, cerclage care, D&C, and other obstetric procedures safely and efficiently
• Document patient care accurately in EMR systems (CPN and Meditech)
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatology and unit staff to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery and postpartum care and provide compassionate support
• Follow unit protocols for hemorrhage, hypertensive disorders, oxytocin/induction and neonatal resuscitation

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (state licensure required for practice)
• Minimum: 1 year experience in Labor & Delivery (as stated)
• Experience circulating in the OR for C-section deliveries (must have)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (required)
• Familiarity with EMR systems: CPN and Meditech

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation skills and labor assessment
• Skilled in obstetric procedures (C-section circulation, inductions, cerclage, D&C)
• Comfortable with PACU/postpartum care and high-acuity maternal care
• Ability to work in a fast-paced unit with defined patient ratios (Labor 2:1, Antepartum 4:1, PACU 2:1, PP 6:1)
• Excellent teamwork, communication and positive, open-minded attitude
• Adherence to unit protocols (oxytocin/induction, maternal hemorrhage, preeclampsia management, magnesium sulfate, MEWS)
