Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate inpatient hold nursing care for ED patients assigned to Med-Surg Telemetry holds
• Monitor telemetry and intervene appropriately for changes in cardiac or clinical status
• Manage patient acuity and maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios on the hold unit
• Collaborate with ED, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
• Perform thorough assessments, document care accurately, and escalate concerns promptly
• Support throughput by efficiently managing holds and facilitating patient flow
• Participate in competency testing and maintain required certifications to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state verification required)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing and inpatient hold care preferred
• Comfort and ability to accept ED patients preferred
• Current PALS, TNCC, BLS and ACLS certifications
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Successful completion of Fit Test, respirator evaluation, required immunizations and 10-panel drug screen

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Patient acuity assessment and ratio management
• Inpatient hold workflows and emergency department hold processes
• Strong clinical judgment and escalation skills
• Effective communication with interdisciplinary teams and families
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients overnight
