Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Continuously monitor and interpret hemodynamic, respiratory, and other bedside data to guide care
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced critical care equipment safely
• Deliver timely medication administration and manage complex IV/central line therapies
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient plans
• Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and discharge needs in a clear, caring way
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record and contribute to unit quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain one
• Minimum 2+ years of recent ICU experience (critical care experience required)
• BLS certification required; ACLS required or strongly preferred
• Comfort with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Ability to work independently on night shifts and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Travel nurse experience and compact licensure are a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN)
• BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and triage skills
• Proficient in ventilator management and respiratory support
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and titration of critical drips
• Skilled in central line, arterial line, and complex IV care
• Solid clinical judgment, prioritization, and crisis management
• Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
