Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for Emergency Department and inpatient hold patients
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs based on acuity and changing clinical conditions
• Manage patient flow and acuity-based staffing demands to ensure safe staffing ratios
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support services to coordinate care
• Perform timely documentation and maintain accurate patient records and handoffs
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions per protocol
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical excellence
• Support patient and family education to promote understanding and recovery

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure with license/certificate verification required
• BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications (current) — these are required
• Comfortable managing ED and inpatient hold acuity and staffing ratios
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Fit test and required immunizations/health screenings (Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, PPD or IGRA, physical/health statement, Trinity 10 panel drug screen)
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency nursing assessment and stabilization
• Acuity-based staffing and patient prioritization
• Proficient in clinical documentation and handoff communication
• Familiarity with emergency protocols, triage, and rapid response
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced ED and inpatient hold environment
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient- and family-centered care
