Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care for patients across the lifespan, from neonatal through geriatric
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization when required, following NRP/STABLE protocols
• Manage ventilators, oxygen therapy, and airway support for acute and chronic patients
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
• Respond promptly to emergency situations during the night shift and deliver high-quality critical interventions
• Document patient status, interventions, and progress clearly and accurately in the medical record
• Educate families and caregivers on respiratory therapies, equipment use, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist credential/license as required by Texas
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP or STABLE) required
• Comfortable and experienced caring for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Ability to work night shift hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) reliably

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in respiratory therapy interventions and ventilator management
• Strong neonatal resuscitation and stabilization knowledge
• Proficient in BLS, ACLS, and PALS protocols
• Ability to provide patient-centered care across the lifespan
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced, rural hospital settings
• Good clinical judgment and ability to prioritize during emergencies
